BRENDLEN'S LOWCOUNTRY CHRISTMAS

This year we will be collecting donations & dedicating our Christmas Light display to Jessie Webster. Jessie is 15 years old and was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma in June 2014. She is undergoing a very aggressive treatment plan that should end around Thanksgiving. Burkitt's Lymphoma is a very aggressive cancer that fortunately is very curable. She has had a difficult time with some of the treatments but has not complained or given up hope for a minute. She has been stubborn since the day she was born which has been a blessing throughout her treatment.

** UPDATE  FROM 2013** Ariana was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in November 2013. She had surgery to remove some of the tumor from around her spine just a coupe of days after being admitted into MUSC childrens hospital. She had four rounds of chemo the...rapy spread out over 3 1/2 months. She was declared cancer free and considered to be in remission on February 27, 2014. Around the end of April she was admitted back into the hospital for complications involving her surgical site. They found that the surgical site had became infected some how and treated her for 6 weeks with IV antibiotics. She is now doing just fine. The surgical site is healed- everything is closed up and she just has a scar there now. Her last scans were in August and everything came back great. She is scheduled to have her port taken out this Thursday Oct. 2nd. She celebrated her 2nd birthday in July and is a very happy and busy little lady.

Jess and I are still so greatful for all your support while we were going through this. Even though now looking back is was only a short period in our life it felt like it was never going to end. We are so lucky to live in such a caring community and to know such wonderful people like y'all!!!!!

**UPDATE FROM 2012** Thanks to this amazing family that, not only gives, but brightens the area during Christmas. They made our hard road a lot easier to travel.

My sweet baby boy Dax was born at 25 weeks. He was at MUSC for 5 months, 2 weeks and ...72 hours. He has had numerous surgeries, procedures, dr. appointments, and has therapy 5 times a week. He is our miracle and we are so proud of him. He has a trach, lung disease, low immune and development delay. We were told he would more than likely never talk, walk, etc... But only the good Lord knows and God had different plans. He now walks, makes little sounds and is one step away from being Trach free. The help of this amazing family came when we really needed funds to travel to and from Charleston and it meant more than they will ever know. Dax has come so far because of the help, kindness, and prayers from good people and we will forever be grateful!

Thanks,
Proud Mommy of Dax (Terra)
